Study Shows That Looking at Your Cell Phone is Killing Your Neck
A spine doctor has released a study that shows looking down at our texts is like having a 60-pound weight on your neck, and it’s ruining your spine.
Dr. Kenneth K. Hansraj, chief of spine surgery at New York Spine Surgery & Rehabilitation Medicine, conducted the study, which concluded that this bad cell phone habit is terrible for your neck and spine health. The average person spends at least two hours a day in this position, putting unnecessary stress on the neck and causing poor posture, not to mention other (expensive) back problems your weak spine will have later on in life.
Never look down at your phone. Instead, bring it up to your face, and when you are looking down at a computer screen, try holding it at a 30-degree angle for the best posture. Don’t let your cell phone turn you into a hunchback.
