A new restaurant in Japan is gearing up to launch something extra special for Sailor Moon fans.
Themed around the popular magical girl anime/manga franchise, Sailor Moon Shining Moon Tokyo is set to open next month in the capital.
As it is a permanent eatery and not a seasonal offering, the Sailor Moon restaurant promises to offer a lot more than your typical anime-themed cafe/restaurant that pops up every now and then, SoraNews24 reports.
For lunch, the restaurant will offer Sailor Moon-themed food, such as the Pretty Guardian Lunch Box and Moon Prism Rice Burger.
For dinner, patrons can order the Sailor Planet Round Sushi, Mako-chan-invented Somen cold noodles or Tsukino Family’s Bunny Curry.
Its selection of drinks includes the Usagi Strawberry Smoothie or Mamoru Ice Coffee. The lineup is reportedly expanding to black sugar coffee, pink lemonade, blue cider, red cider, green nectar and golden mango.
Fans who come to the restaurant for dinner get an extra treat as live Sailor Moon stage shows will be performed every night.
Each night will feature three performances with each role being played by one of two actresses. Sailor Moon’s part will be shared by Reona Samejima and Shina Tanaka.
Meanwhile, the other characters will be played by the following:
Sailor Mercury will be played by Kokona and Yui Hayashi
Sailor Mars will be played by Mika Taguchi and Ayaka Ozaki
Sailor Jupiter will be played by Mayuka Ida and Ayaka Ozaki
Sailor Venus will be played by Nanae Abe and Yu Nakanishi
Tuxedo Mask will be played by Hikari Aoba and Sufa
Individual menu items will have no specific price. Customers must buy a “ticket,” which provides a choice of one food item and one drink.
Lunch tickets (from noon to 1:30 p.m.) cost 3,500 yen ($32), while dinner tickets are priced at either 7,500 ($69.63) or 8,500 yen ($78.91), depending on the specific seat.
The 100-minute dinner seating starts at 4 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., with their respective 40-minute stage shows beginning at 5 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 10 p.m.
Sailor Moon Shining Moon Tokyo, which will hold its grand opening on August 15, will only entertain prior reservation seatings until the end of October. Reservations will be open to the general public through the restaurant’s official website on July 21.
Sailor Moon Shining Moon Tokyo will be situated in the Azabu Juban district, the neighborhood where both Usagi/Sailor Moon lived in the anime/manga and where series creator Naoko Takeuchi has lived for some time.
The complete address is as follows: Tokyo-to, Minato-ku, Azabu Juban 1-10-10, Jppule A, basement level 1 東京都港区麻布十番1-10-10ジュールA B1F.
