A 28-year-old pregnant woman
The woman, only identified as Ren, reportedly became angry at an 11-month-old girl who was hitting the table with a spoon while dining at an unnamed restaurant in Xiangcheng, Henan province, China, according to Chinese media via Daily Mail.

Ren was reportedly in a bad mood that day as she had a quarrel with her husband before the incident happened. The woman then had a confrontation with the child’s mother, Yang, for being too noisy, which added more fuel to her flaming rage.
The woman, who was discovered to be six months pregnant according to a restaurant employee, was convinced by her husband to leave the restaurant; however, she returned 10 minutes later to exact her revenge on the innocent kid by pouring scorching soup on her.
After it was reported, the Xiangccheng police initially issued a 15-day detention and a 500 yuan ($72) fine to Ren, but she was able to evade the law as pregnant women in China are not allowed to be detained or jailed.
While she already paid for the child’s medical bills, police are still assessing the seriousness of the injuries that the child and her mother suffered as authorities carry out further investigation into the case.
