Markiplier to direct and star in movie adaptation of horror game ‘Iron Lung’

Content creator and entrepreneur Markiplier will direct, produce and star in the horror film “Iron Lung.”
The project, which Markiplier is self-financing, also features Caroline Rose Kaplan, who has appeared in “Orange Is the New Black” and “NCIS: New Orleans.”
Although the details of the film’s plot are being kept under wraps, “Iron Lung” is an adaptation of the 2022 submarine horror game of the same name, created by David Szymanski. Markiplier is joined by Will Hyde and Jeff Guerrero as producers for the project.
With a digital platform reach of over 69 million, Markiplier, whose real name is Mark Fischbach, has become one of YouTube’s most recognizable figures. He has been active on YouTube for over a decade and is well-known for his “Let’s Play”-style gameplay commentary, primarily in the survival horror and action genres.
