Actor Macaulay Culkin welcomed a baby boy with partner Brenda Song, but some social media users recalled his past comments about making “Asian babies.”
Song, 33, gave birth to their first son on April 5, named Dakota Song Culkin in honor of the 40-year-old actor’s late sister Dakota who died in 2008, according to Esquire.
After several media outlets reported the big announcement, social media users quickly reposted a People interview with the “Home Alone” actor in 2018, where he shared his excitement for having “Asian babies” with the Disney star, The Wrap reported.
This one’s a good one, so I’m probably going to put some babies in her in a little bit,” Culkin said. “I mean, we’ve definitely been practicing.”
I’m going to have some pretty babies. She’s Asian, so I’m gonna have tiny little Asian babies. It’s going to be adorable — a bunch of Sean Lennon’s running around the house, that’s what I’m looking for,” the actor added, referencing John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s son, Sean Lennon.
“Fresh Off the Boat” actor Jeff Yang took to Twitter on Tuesday to extend his congratulations to the couple. The Taiwanese American journalist also embedded a screenshot of Culkin’s 2018 interview alongside the message, “Congrats I guess.”

Song described Culkin as “kind and loyal and sweet” in a past interview, reported Today.
“He knows who he is, and he’s 100% okay with that. And that to me is an incredibly sexy quality,” she said.
