Most of us know Kim Kardashian as the reality-TV star whose brand was put on the map after her sex tape with R&B singer Ray J was leaked.

Since then, on top of launching businesses in the clothing, jewelry and cosmetics industry, Kim Kardashian has proven to be a great tech entrepreneur. She now has an app game, and it’s been making a total killing. The app hasn’t even been out for a month, and it’s already on track to make $200 million in annual revenue.

Since its release on June 25, “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” has risen as high as second among the most-downloaded free-to-play games, according to Bloomberg.

The object of the game is to rise in the ranks of Hollywood celebrity with help from a virtual Kim. You start as an E-list celebrity and try to reach the coveted A-list group. How do you achieve this? Date famous people in the game. Ah … social climbing at its best.


The game is free, but allows players to buy digital accessories for real money. Exactly $5,000 in virtual money costs $4.99. A pair of heels cost around $4,000 in the game, according to Daily Mail.

The mobile gaming market has been growing rapidly and researcher TechNavio predicts that it will be a $24.3 billion global industry by 2016, more than double from $9.3 billion in 2012.

So, for anyone that sees Kim Kardashian as just another spoiled rich kid with a thirst of attention, think again!
