Japanese Woman Nearly Stabs Man to Death Because She ‘Loved Him So Much’

A 21-year-old Japanese woman from Shinjuku district, Tokyo was recently arrested after she nearly stabbed her male acquaintance to death in her apartment.
The incident happened on Thursday when the suspect, identified as Yuka Takaoka, stabbed the man believed to be in his 20s to 30s in the stomach, according to Japan Today. Takaoka, who lives on the fifth-floor of the apartment building, later called the police and admitted to the crime.
 
Upon arrival, police found the woman sitting and smoking beside the man as he lied on the floor covered in blood in the lobby of the apartment building.

She was then quoted by the police saying, “My plan was to first kill him and then I thought about committing suicide.”
During the questioning, it was revealed that the crime was likely the result of a dispute in their relationship, according to Tokyo Reporter.
Since I loved him so much, I just couldn’t help it. After killing [him], I, too, wanted to die,” she told the authorities.
Video report from media outlets in Japan even showed Takaoka smiling as she was escorted inside a police car.

It was initially reported that her occupation is unknown, but new details emerged claiming that Takaoka likely works at a hostess club, and that the victim is most probably a bar host.
The victim, whose name was not revealed, was rushed to the hospital where he was in critical condition while officers accused Takaoka of attempted murder.
