A Chinese woman is taking an apartment developer to court after finding out that the “premium” parking space she purchased won’t let her exit her car unless she passes through the sunroof.
Identified only by her surname Tao, the woman from Nanning purchased the spot for over 200,000 yuan ($29,000), reports Shanghaiist.

Tao reportedly purchased the space last August but was only able to check it recently when she finally moved in.

She then discovered that the area, located near the parking garage elevator, was situated inconveniently in between two walls. While there is enough room for a car to pull in, there isn’t enough space for the driver to open the door and get out.

According to Tao, the only way she could exit her vehicle was through the sunroof. Disappointed with her purchase, she asked the developer for a refund.
In response, the developer claimed that since the tax returns were already filed, her request would be impossible. The developer also allegedly suggested that she sell the space to someone else instead.

Tao has since decided to bring the matter to court as based on local regulations, a parking spot should have at least 60 centimeters of space around it.
