No matter how fresh diners want their food, nobody probably wants it to be way too fresh that it can actually spring back to life after serving.
Such is the case of one terrifying viral video that shows what appears to be a piece of raw chicken leaping out of its plate to the horror of diners.
Placed among a plate of raw meat on a restaurant table, the “reanimated” meat slice was captured on film as it began to twitch.
It then continued to move, tilting itself upward before yanking itself off the diner’s plate and into the floor as if trying to escape its fate.
Screams can be heard in the background as the meat made its “jump.”

The clip, uploaded by a Florida woman named Rie Phillips on Facebook two weeks ago, has already been viewed over 15 million times as of this writing.
While it was not revealed where the video was taken, the visible chopsticks suggest it was from a Japanese, Chinese or Korean restaurant, the New York Post reports.
“Hell no if my food is walking, I’m walking too,” a Facebook user commented in jest.
Some social media users believe that the clip may be staged. Others posited that muscle movement similar to the jumping chicken is possible as nerve endings that had not died may cause such spasms.
“Usually because the meat is so fresh the muscles can still move,” a commenter pointed out.
“It was so fresh that some of the muscles are still firing off signals,” another chimed in.
WTSP verified the authenticity of the video of the “zombie” chicken with experts.
Travis Malloy of TrailBale Farm in Temple Terrace, Florida explained that chickens might writhe for 10-15 seconds after their heads are cut off, but not after that.
