BTS fans, affectionately known as ARMYs, expressed their support with overwhelming cheers throughout the group’s performance and acceptance of awards.
“Thank you, ARMY. Still can’t believe that we’re here on this stage with so many great artists, oh my god,” RM said. “ARMY, this is only possible because of the little things we shared together. The BTS and ARMY power, right? And we’re still the same boys from six years ago. We still have the same dreams. We still have the same feelings; we still have the same thoughts. So let’s keep dreaming the best dreams together. Thank you. I love you all.”

Ahead of the awards show, the group recalled their first meeting with Halsey, which also took place at the BBMAs in 2017.
“We and Halsey met two years ago at the backstage of BBMA. Actually, she was a fan of our music videos and we were fans of ‘Closer’ and her voice,” RM said, according to the Korea Herald. “We became friends and (said) we should work together and it just happened. Two years later, we are here.”

Needless to say, ARMYs at home celebrated the group’s performance and victory just as cheerfully on Twitter.
