Yesterday night, during an event hosted by Orrick TOTAL ACCESS, Jorge Cortell, Founder and CEO of Kanterson Systems took a picture of a female attendee’s high heels and tweeted the following:

The event was called “Reverse” Demo Day, where top VC firms including Greycroft, Lerer Ventures, Softbank, and 37 Angels pitch themselves to entrepreneurs — how nice for a change right?
Naturally, Jorge’s tweet immediately got a ton of scrutiny and his account has been subjected with angry tweets. His Twitter account was also suspended for a short amount of time from him responding to all the tweets he has gotten regarding his comments. This is currently his defense:
@daveambrose not sexist. Logical. Perhaps a man was wearing those. Would be equally absurd. High heels are STUPID, bad for your health.
