You know how some people like to argue that the reason people have low-wage jobs is because they are not as educated? According to a report published this year by the Economic Policy Institute, a study found that low-wage workers today are more educated than they were more than forty years ago, but earn much less. After an adjustment for inflation, the federal minimum wage today (currently $7.25) has decreased by 23% compared to 1968.
What’s even more interesting is that because today’s low-wage workers are better educated, productivity has more than doubled.
So, what do you think guys? Is it time to raise the federal minimum wage? Make some noise in the comments below!
