The reading game is about to be changed. A new app called Spritz has been released on all Samsung devices that will allow you to potentially read up to 1,000 words per minute. According to the Huffington Post, this means you could read “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” in under 77 minutes.

Spritz works by showing you sentences to read one word at a time. The words get displayed faster and faster depending on how fast you set it at, so 250 words per minute is manageable while 500 words per minute looks like it could cause seizures (the average college-level reader reads between 200-400 words per minute). The words are also positioned around their middle letters, letting your eyes capture them easier and faster. If you do manage to work up to those insane levels (the highest is 1000 wpm), you could theoretically read a huge, boring book like the Bible in less than a day.

Try it out for yourself:

Sorry Reading Rainbow, but you got nothing on Spritz. Getting a new Samsung device? Try the app and tell us about it!
