A South Korean diplomat is making headlines in Chile and his home country after sexually assaulting young girls.
The unidentified diplomat’s lascivious act was caught on camera, which apparently ended up in the trailer for a local program called “En Su Propia Trampa” (“To Fall Into One’s Trap”). The clip posted on Facebook has been viewed over 800,000 times as of press time.
The first incident occurred in September while the diplomat was teaching Korean to a 14-year-old Chilean girl, Yonhap News Agency reported. He was accused of grabbing and pulling her into his house.
After the incident, the girl tipped off a local television channel, which then filmed the diplomat’s harassment of another woman who pretended to be a teenager. According to KoreaBoo, the diplomat used K-Pop to lure the girls.
When the program’s staff showed up to tell that he’s been trapped, he was seen repeatedly saying “por favor,” seemingly pleading that the clip not be aired.
However, the disgusting news already broke out. In a press release, South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it “is extremely sorry for the occurrence and plans to tighten discipline in order to prevent a repeat of similar cases.”
In addition, the Ministry vowed to apply a zero-tolerance policy to such grave misdeeds, including follow-up measures. South Korea’s ambassador to Chile is slated to make an apology.
The accused diplomat is currently suspended from duties as he undergoes criminal trial in Chile.
