The cat who went viral for being a doppelganger to Adam Driver, the actor who played Kylo Ren in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” has been adopted.
The feline, originally named Corey, found internet fame after his picture was posted to Twitter by user Marci Robin with the comment “Tell me this cat at @TheMCSPCA doesn’t look like Adam Driver.”
The internet agreed, because since being shared on Saturday, the picture has been retweeted over 1,700 times and liked over 2,200 times.
Although many netizens volunteered to adopt the cat from the Monmouth County SPCA in New Jersey, it was Robin’s friend and former coworker, Emily McCombs, who ended up taking him home.
In a post on Elite Daily, where she serves as executive editor, McCombs wrote: “I didn’t adopt Corey because he was going viral on the Internet. I adopted him because I loved him.”
After taking the lucky feline home, McCombs renamed him Kylo Ren. She has also since began posting pictures of Kylo to an Instagram account with the handle catam_driver, which is the name she and her boyfriend were originally going to go with.
