San Francisco International Airport has proven to be a pretty lucky place for one Hubert Tang, who found a $20 bill on the ground Wednesday evening and ended up becoming an instant millionaire because of it.
Many who find money on the ground usually pocket the lost cash, but Tang decided that he was going to push his luck and buy two $10 California Lottery tickets at a market in Millbrae, according to KRON 4. This was odd for Tang though, because prior to his purchase, it had been an entire decade since he had last bought a ticket.
After Tang scratched off the concealed areas of the tickets he was astonished to find that he was holding a ticket worth a million dollars. He told the California Lottery:
“I scratched the ticket outside of the store. I told my friend who I was with that I didn’t know if it was real but, ‘I think I just won a million dollars.’”
After the ticket was cashed, the store in Millbrae received a $5,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
Tang, a bartender at the airport, hasn’t missed a shift since he won. On what he would do with his winnings, Tang said:
“I haven’t really thought about what I am going to do with the money. For now I am just going to put it in savings.
“Maybe I’ll start leaving $20 bills on the street in random places.”
