Jeans make up a huge part of our lives. Who do you know that doesn’t own a pair of jeans they wear frequently? However, there has never really been a solid answer to how often you should wash them without affecting the look and feel of the denim, until now.

In a recent interview with Fortune Magazine, Levi’s President and CEO Chip Bergh put an end to the age-old questions once and for all, he said:

“These are one of my favorite jeans. These jeans are maybe a year old and these have yet to see a washing machine. I know that sounds totally disgusting. I know it does. But believe me, you can spot clean it, you can air dry it and it is fine. I have yet to get a skin disease or anything else. It works…”

So there you have it! The answer to how often you should wash your jeans is simply… you don’t. But seriously, someone needs to do us all a favor and spill coffee on this CEO’s jeans so he washes them already.

Who is going to listen to Mr. Bergh’s advice? Make some noise in the comments below!
