One of the managers of K-Pop girl group G-Friend has been the target of outrage from fans disturbed by his physical contact with the members.
It all started during a recent fan signing event when attendees noticed that the manager “unnecessarily” touched the members multiple times, Allkpop reported.
In one case, when member Yerin said she had something in her hair, the manager suddenly popped behind her to touch her hair. There’s also a point when he grabbed member Sowon’s hand while she greeted fans.
But what seemed to alarm fans even more is the statement coming from G-Friend’s previous manager, who tweeted:
“I was a manager during their ‘Rough’ promotions. During my time there, we didn’t approach the members like this. I think the manager in the photos didn’t receive proper training.”
G-Friend, and their management, has yet to respond to the controversy.
The group will be performing in this year’s KCON USA in New York as the third act, following TWICE and CNBLUE. The event takes place at the Prudential Center on June 23 to 24, NBC News noted.
