The final leg of China’s 6th Annual International Breast Model Contest was held in Hefei, Anhui Provine on Saturday.
The candidates went through the evening in different outfits, each of them beautiful and confident. In the end, a “hot mom” bagged the crown, according to Shanghaiist.
However, like previous ones, the contest received mixed reactions as people were divided in finding it empowering and offensive.
In pageants where beauty is the sole basis for determining winners, nothing much is needed for natural busts, but China’s breast model contest also welcomes patrons of plastic surgery.
In last year’s battle held in August, the winner reportedly went under the knife just before the pageant. Participants were asked to appear in lingerie, swimwear and formal wear before the panel of judges.
One commenter wrote, “Curvaceous contestant #8 was deemed to have the breast ones of the bunch. The young woman had her implants done just before the pageant.”
“They should give the award to the surgeon and not the girl,” another commenter added.
Breast augmentation procedures are popular in China, but they’re not always successful. Earlier this year, a 25-year-old model lost her life during surgery, done under the diagnosis “small breast syndrome.”
