A computer security engineer has created a map that shows Wi-Fi passwords from airports all around the world.
Anil Polat retrieves passwords through his own travels and by asking people to share them over foXnoMad, his travel blog.
Polat explained how it came to be:
“Finding an open wireless connection in many airports isn’t always easy, or possible, without a password (or local phone number which is stupid). The difficulty of getting online is why I asked you for and created an always-up-to-date list of airport wireless passwords around the world.”
Polat’s map is easy to use. Simply zoom in, click on an airport and voila – directions to get the best Wi-Fi connections are available.
Polat updates the map regularly, living up to his promise:
“I’ll update the map to help your fellow travelers stay connected when they’re hopping from airport to airport.”
The map is available to download in the App Store, Play Store and Amazon as an app called WiFox.
