Having risen to become one of the biggest e-commerce sites in the world — along with raising $25 billion through its IPO — has made Alibaba the talk of the business world in recent months. Its founder Jack Ma has also surprised people — he named fictional character Forrest Gump as his idol and revealed that he built one of the biggest tech companies in the world without ever having written a single line of working code in his life. In a recent interview at the Wall Street Journal tech conference in Laguna Beach, California, Jack revealed another surprising fact:

“I don’t shop online, but my wife buys everything at home.”

For a man that’s made more money in the last 90 days from the e-commerce company he started than Amazon has made in total in the last 20 years, the revelation that he doesn’t do much online shopping is pretty shocking. It also shows that you don’t have to be a tech genius in order to start a successful tech company. As long as you have a brand vision, the drive, and the ability to bring top-tier talents together, you have a chance to make it.
